One of the great things about working in property inventories is that no two properties are ever quite the same.
Recently, our team visited Ewefield Farm in Chesterton — a beautiful rural property with a fascinating history.
Originally built in 1909, the farmhouse and surrounding landscape appear to have changed remarkably little over the past century.
But the history of the area goes back much further.
Just north of the farm are the remains of a Roman villa and medieval settlement, where archaeological excavations have uncovered pottery, tiles and mosaic artwork.
Today, the property sits within stunning open countryside, offering some incredible views across the surrounding landscape.
It’s a reminder that an inventory isn’t always just about documenting the condition of a property.
Sometimes, you get to document a little piece of history too.
